Hello there!
![]()
My name is Josh Wittenkeller (aka “J-Wittz”), and I think I just might like videogames. My dream is to become a videogame journalist. In the meantime, I’m just a nerd with a website that likes to write.
WittzGaming is intended to be an outlet for me to hone my writing craft by constantly pushing out any kind of games-related pieces that I can. Expect opinion pieces, reviews, news, and plenty of rambling. My goal is to emulate the high-stress atmosphere of writing for a games publication by committing myself to get quality material as often as I can on this site. Eventually, I’d like my writing to evolve to a level where I feel comfortable submitting my work as part of a portfolio for a future career. In the meantime, I just want to have fun sharing my opinions and striking up conversations.
When asked about how to get oneself into video game journalism, Destructoid Editor Jim Sterling (one of my personal idols) said the following: “Be yourself, and write every damn day”. Following in that call, my goal is to get something up on this website at least six times a week. Because I’m just one person honing their craft, I plan on writing one thorough game review each weekend. It likely won’t always be a brand-new title ( I am still your stereotypical “poor college kid” until further notice), but I’ll be keeping my reviews restricted to the current console generation and beyond. The rest of the week should be an interesting compilation of whatever I found was interesting to talk about at the time.
I can only imagine that most of my core audience at this site’s start will be anyone who watched my previous show. While I’d love to eventually expand deeper into the gaming community, I’d like to thank all of you Prof-It! fans out there who decided to follow me along my life’s path. I’m sure many of you are wondering if I have plans to expand into making a new show for WittzGaming in the future, and I respond to that with a resounding yes. I’ve been working out the details for this site and its future for months, and I have 3 recurring segments planned sometime down the road. I’ll keep you guys updated once things start to kick off and let you know where to go when the time comes.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the site! Whether or not it helps steer me into something bigger, it should be a lot of fun either way.
